Program Update

Recent News

Young People’s Success Series had been named Young Men’s Success Series for its first four years. We changed at our annual Mother’s Day breakfast as one way to celebrate family. We have moved from a focus on males of color to embracing the entire family. We want to include women, both sisters and Mothers as the best strategy to lift young men and everyone to new heights.

Building Family by including the family.

Sure young men of color have issues unique to them, but these problems cannot be solved isolated from family and community. So we have expanded our mission to include family and community as the means and the ends to success.

Other News – New Home

We have a new location at Lena Park Community Center. We use to meet at Reggie Lewis Athletic Center, but now we have a facility conducive to learning and self development. Lena Park is located at 150 American Legion Highway, Dorchester.

Parent Registration

We now register families for our workshops. We begin in September and end in June. We use to have an open door approach to attendance where people would show up. That approach was difficult to get regular attendance and collect data. So now we register families to secure a core group to work with exclusively.

A core group has many benefits: It makes relationship building easier. It enable us to collect data. It allow us to measure the progress of the program.
